Challenge:
Through a combination of organic growth, mergers, and acquisitions Marco has grown to become an IT leader in the Midwest region and extending to the east coast. Because of their business model that includes products, services, and data, Marco’s headquarters required office space, warehouse, and data center. Consideration also needed to be given to Marco’s rapid growth projections and related space needs.
Solution/What Worked:
To provide scalability, energy efficiency, and flexibility a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system was the basis of the HVAC design. Special attention was given to the data room in managing heat generated from the data center while the warehouse space HVAC took more of a utilitarian approach to manage costs.
